Goldeye is pleased to report the successful completion of its winter drill program carried out between January 19, 2004 and March 9, 2004. to test the extension of the North Lacarte shoot southeastwards from the surface exposure where a surface assay of 5.79 g/t Au over 16m was previously reported. Seventeen holes totaling 2504 m of drilling have tested the North Lacarte zone and additional targets along the Tyrrell Shear zone resulting in two significant intersections.
Hole H04-16 intersected 3.01 g/t Au over a core length of 6.05 m , extending the zone to the northwest. In addition, hole H04-17 intersected 3.79 g/t Au over 6.4m. This result demonstrates the continuity of mineralization between H03-06 where 7.24 g/t Au over 9.4 m was previously reported and H-04-06 where 2.06 g/t Au 0ver 3 m was reported in 2003. Drill hole H-04-14 intersected late diabase on section 10562.5.
Some 200m of the Tyrrell Shear Zone eastward from the North LaCarte shoot (including the eastward projection of the North LaCarte zone) was tested by 11 drill holes. This drilling filled in the previous drilling to 25 m spacing. On three of these sections, a second, steeper hole, was drilled from the same collar to test the extension of the mineralization to depth. Gold values are shown in the accompanying table. Intersections of note include 2.17 g/t Au over 4.5m in H-04-20; 2.14g/t Au over 5.87m in H-04-23 and 2.75 g/t Au over 10.3m (including 8.58 g/t Au over 0.8m) in H-04-28. The intersection on H-04-28, under H-04-24, suggests an increase in gold content with depth. This intersection is 'open' down dip.
At the eastern end of the drilling, on section 10800E, two holes tested the south dipping Tyrrell Shear at depth. H-04-26 cut 2.98 g/t Au over 7.0m at a vertical depth of 293m. This intersection lies 50m west of an intersection of 6.42 g/t Au over 7.5m cut in old hole HC-23. A second hole H-04-27, cut 3.19 g/t Au over 5.2m at a vertical depth of 195m. Near the collar of drillhole H-04-26 a narrow quartz breccia vein within a Matachewan diabase dyke assayed 14.56 g/t Au over 1.1m. Such high values are unusual within the diabase dykes and their significance is not understood. The vein will be trenched this summer.
Near the west end of the drilling, and 20 to 30m south of the North LaCarte Zone, 3 holes tested a parallel zone which is referred to as the H#3 zone (first noted near the collar of drill hole H-03-3). On section 10612.5E, H-04-18 cut 3.23 g/t Au over 1.8m. Some 20m down dip, H-04-19 intersected 3.56g/t Au over 12.13m including 7.31 g/t Au over 2.95m. This intersection was reported previously, but an additional sample has increased the width of the zone.
On the western end of (105+50E) of the Lacarte north zone, diabase dykes have cut off the mineralization to depth. A Spectral IP anomaly west of the dyke indicates the zone may extend to the north-west. A program of trenching in this area is proposed for this summer.
A program of drill hole 3D Spectral IP will be conducted by JVX Ltd. on the Hydro creek zone and on the 'Big Dome'. The survey will provide a 3D inversion model of sulphides associated with the mineralization which will allow optimization of deep drill holes.
A recent Spectral IP survey on the Goldeye/Temex joint venture lands has located several high priority Spectral IP targets associated with anomalous soil and rock samples. The new targets are currently being drilled.
At Cripple Lake, a winter Spectral IP survey 3km east of the Hydro Creek located several high priority Spectral IP anomalies near hole G-15, drilled in 2000 which cut 0.57g/t Au over 7.7m in altered, sheared weakly pyritized sediments/felsic volcanics just north of the Tyrrell Shear Zone (TSZ). Also, on the Clinton Block, high priority Spectral IP responses were associated with a 6.07 g/t Au channel sample over 1.7m and a 5g/t Au grab sample reported by Battle Mountain.
The Tyrrell project has received interest from several major mining companies.
The following is a summary of assays received.
